![]() ![]() Like the Unkindled in Dark Souls’ Lordran, in Code Vein you play as the undead denizens of an isolated, post-apocalyptic city. An Unkindled by any other name would smell as ashen What we found was more familiar than fresh, but we suspect that will be more than enough for a lot of fans. We went hands on with Code Vein on PlayStation 4 at a recent Bandai Namco event in New York to see how it measures up to the modern classic with which it begs comparison. ![]() Like Nioh, Code Vein wears Hidetaka Miyazaki’s influence on its sleeve, taking the signature gameplay of From Software’s notoriously tough RPG while adding its own spin to its combat, progression, and, of course, visual direction. Nevertheless, it would be disingenuous to describe Bandai Namco’s Code Vein as anything besides “ Soulslike.” Fitbit Versa 3Ĭomparing new video games to From Software’s genre-defining action RPG series Dark Souls has become a crutch in contemporary gaming criticism, to the point where the statement has lost its meaning. However, I have left the project files, so anyone if they are willing can fix these issues with some knowledge of UE4. Thanks for pointing out some issues even though unfortunately they will most likely not be fixed. Probably, it could have be possible to detect which ones are part of a quest and remove them from being randomized. In my progress, I did notice some enemies have a flag type to them. ![]() I have no knowledge in AI behavior, so I probably wouldn't had been able to fix that issue. With that being said, there should be a function to re spawn your extra partners. I assume you mean teleporting within the same area? Yeah I probably could have grab your extra partners and teleport them with you in hindsight, though the disintegration effect will be hard to pull off though. But it can also break your side quests (specifically the ones that requires you to kill a mob) too, so be careful with it.Ĭaused me an infinite loop loading screen once (couldn't spawn in Yakumo) and UE4 crash but I suppose this is just a render limitation or whatever.Īs I have retired from code vein modding and won't be making any further changes but to address your comment.Ĭruz statue makes sense though I want to still make sure its in a place that is obvious and in their face given its purpose. The enemy randomiser can be rather fun and hilarious if you want to make the game harder for you. The rest of them won't, so they will have to walk all the way to your location.Īlso, sometimes after you die to a boss and spawn at the mistle, your party will just derp out and immediately go back to fight the boss without you leading them which is a really odd behaviour for them, wtf. When you teleport to a mistle with the Mistle root consumable/Vivifier/Vivification, only you and your paired partner will teleport. I understand what the purpose otf the statue is, it really can come off as something out of place there especially when your are watching cutscenes. Maybe resize it and put it on the table there if you can (not chairs as the NPC are seen to be using them from time to time) or something. Really wish Cruz's statue on the balcony to be changed. Great mod, recommended if people want to have the "true to story" experience where you get to travel with everyone but this needs more polish, imo. It's nothing problematic, just a weird quirk we've noticed. Other fast travel points don't override the companions spawned by the mod and will allow you to set your partner to "none" while still keeping all three(or more) partners summoned by the mod. We've also observed that not every bonfire works the same, when you fast travel to some locations, you'll be forced to summon a partner, if you have Yakumo = 0, Louis = 1, and Mia =2, then the game will set your partner as Mia, if you select "None" manually, Mia will always disappear, and if you change it it Louis or Yakumo, you'll have two of either Yakumo or Louis. I'm guessing because the game and the mod are trying to fill the same slot with different sets of data at the same time. ![]() If you have Louis on 0 and Mia on 1 and you either can't set the bonfire to be Mia or "None" the game will always crash after a cutscene. if you want Mia and Louis but you don't have Mia unlocked, then Mia must be on 0, Louis must be on 1 and at the bonfire you set as your partner either none or Louis. Yea we tried all combinations, but we've also figured it out: The partner selected at the bonfire must be either the same as the last index summoned by the mod or set to "none". ![]()
